Where is Encantada , Costa Rica , and why would I want to go on a yoga retreat there?

Costa Rica is a magical place. EncantadaCottages Beach Resort is located in Esterillos Este, a small, friendly Costa Rican beach community 2 1/2 hours from San Jose on the Central Pacific Coast . Encantada  www.encantadacostarica.com is where we will spend 5 of our 9 nights.  

Encantada provides a wonderful setting for our sunrise and sunset yoga, guided meditations, and workshops. The crowd free black sand beach reaches as far as the eye can see and is perfect for sunsets, swimming, sea shell hunting, surfing, volleyball, sun bathing, and long walks. We will also offer and set up many optional activities: horse back riding to mud baths, canopy zip line tours, and rain forest tours. We often discover some of the magical inhabitants such as monkeys, sloths, frogs, crocodiles, turtles, and the many amazing birds, including toucans, quetzals, and scarlet mackaws.

Prior to arriving at the beach, we will also spend a couple nights at Rancho Mastatal www.ranchomastatal.com , an environmental learning center focused on teaching sustainable building and rainforest appreciation and preservation.  Here we will stay in the rainforest before heading to the beach!

Note:  If you are looking for 5 star accomodations, we are not it, but we offer healthy, green and affordable travel, , deluse surroundings, compassionate teachings and personal service.

A massage therapist and other services are available.  There will also be plenty of time for reading, relaxing, and reflecting. Come join new friends who are exploring, healing, and growing. This retreat is appropriate for all levels of yoga and meditation experience. This is the start of the dry, sunny season (day temperatures about 80-85 degrees or so)

Roy Holman has practiced yoga for 12 years & taught for 10 years. He teaches a grounded, flowing Viniyoga-inspired style of traditional hatha yoga. Roy is a Certified Yoga Instructor trained in the Viniyoga tradition.

What is included in Yoga Retreat fee of $1,195 ?

• Ground transport: Van from & back to airport in San Jose, and to other retreat center.
• 9 Nights Hotel (usually double occupancy) 5 at Encantada, 2 at Rancho Mastatal (and 2 nights outside San Jose ).  I can match you with others, or for a single room add $375, if space allows – talk with me first.   We also sometimes have priority shared rooms available for extra $100 per person (bigger rooms - please ask)
• Retreat Meals : 3 meals daily at Rancho Mastatal, and 2 daily delicious garden fresh meals at Encantada for 5 nights. Open to suggestions and special requests and needs.
• Classes: All Yoga, Meditation, & Playshops
• Air Option : Includes RT Air from Seattle : $1,995 (depending on current prices)

  Extra costs / options : Other meals ($100), souvenirs, suggested hotel and other tips ($40 total?), extra activities (massage, trips, tours), airport departure tax of $30.
